University pathways

In 2019, 85.6% of VET graduates were employed or enrolled in further study after training (VET student outcomes 2019, NCVER).

There are many paths in life, create your own way

After completing a TAFE qualification many of our students progress to a university degree.

Advantages of a TAFE pathway:

  • Start an industry focused pathway to further study
  • Gain practical skills and work experience to complement your degree
  • Apply for a part-time job in the industry while you study
  • Reduce your study load, qualification length, and fees when you enrol into your degree

Give your job search or career a boost

Many of our students start at TAFE after they have completed a degree at university. Giving them an edge over key competitors when applying for a job or future promotion.

You can graduate with two qualifications!

We can assess your previous studies under our Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process, so you can fast track your TAFE qualification.

Credit or advanced standing

We have strong partnerships with all WA universities to enable our graduates to advance to university after graduation SM TAFE diplomas.

Make your SM TAFE to uni pathway shorter when studying full-time. Find out more on the Business and Finance pathways to Murdoch University page.

Credit for study at SM TAFE is available across a range of diplomas and advanced diplomas. Browse the list below and look for the further study tab where numbers of credits are detailed for each degree.
